The Astronist historiographical record comprises the largest database of the exact date and time of when a number of Astronist beliefs, theories and concepts were first conceived by Cometan. The Astronist historiographical record is the only official Institutionally-sanctioned database of its kind that pinpoints specifically when concepts of Astronism were first inspired or "revelated" by Cometan. The record is owned and managed by the publisher known as AstroScholar, which is itself directly regulated by the Astronist Institution.

The record itself was first established by Cometan on 16th February 2020, almost seven years after the initial inception of Astronism itself. Hence, all concepts before this date had to be gathered together and added to the record, the exact times of when some were conceived remain lost to history. For this reason, the record does not represent a complete database of the terms and concepts that Cometan conceived, but it does represent the only database of its kind and is the authoritative voice for this particular area of the historiography of Astronism.

The methodology for the Astronist historiographical record for the initial gathering of information on dates and times for the conception of terms/concepts prior to its establishment has been widely discussed within the Astronist Institution. Cometan used the website logging databases to formulate a near-accurate timescale of when most concepts were at least first written down, hence demonstrating a healthy validity for the dates and times provided in the record, particularly those which were conceived prior to the year  2020. In many places, the record was not able to obtain specific times for Cometan's conception of ideas, but for a concept to be accepted into the record, only a specific date is required, not necessarily a specific time.
